Review: BareMinerals foundation

Monday, August 26, 2013

Bonjour !

A couple of weeks ago, I picked up the BareMinerals foundation while I was in Sephora.  I heard a lot of great things about this product and I had never tried a mineral foundation before so I decided to give it a go :).

As some of you may or may not know I have very dry and sensitive skin so I usually stay away from powder on my face but this foundation does not leave a powdery finish at all. It leaves a healthy looking glow to the skin which just looks gorgeous. I was pleasantly surprised by this product :). I think it would look very nice on people who don't have much blemishes and I would say it gives a light to medium coverage but you can build it to the coverage that you desire.

On the BareMinerals website, it claims to be an " award-winning mineral foundation that gives you all the flawless coverage you want with a no-makeup look and feel that lasts up to eight hours. Our groundbreaking formula is clinically proven to promote clearer, healthier-looking skin." I totally agree with the description but the only "con" I would have to say is that I chose the wrong color so it's a bit dark looking on me :/. If you are wondering, I use it with the Sigma F50.

So yes, that's my review. If any of you tried it, tell me what were your thoughts on it ? I hope you all had an amazing day :)

Update

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Bonjour !

I hope all of you are well :). As I said in my previous post, I'm doing an update on my life today. So first of all, I was planning on doing a 9 month makeup course in Dublin but I didn't get the loan from the bank :( .. but I am actually going to do the 8 week professional makeup course in the same school which I am super excited about :). It's starting on the 2nd of September .. I'm quite nervous but excited at the same time haha ! I'm moving to Dublin on the 16th of August, it's quite scary leaving home for the first time especially to a different country (I currently live in France) but I guess that's part of life and as my mum said "Think of it as an adventure" :). It's true, nothing better than moving to a big city at 18 y.o and being single. I feel it's the start of a new life ! I was also wondering if I was making the right choice, should've I gone to college ? But to be honest the only reason I would've liked to have gone there would have been for the "College life" and not really for the studying so I guess there's no point. Anyways, I'm going to do what I love and that is Makeup and I am very grateful that I know exactly what I want to do :). If you have any tips on moving, or budgeting please leave a comment :)

Outfit

Bonjour !

Here's one of my go to outfits in summer. I love this top so much, I got from Primark a couple of months ago and the crochet shorts are from H&M :). I usually wear this outfit with white converses or my ankle black boots. I paired it with a flower headband from Primark and these stud triangle earrings from a shop in France.
So that's about it, I'll do an update on my life in a future post :).
How is your summer going so far ?

Review: YSL rouge volupt lipstick

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Bonjour !

There's nothing I love more than wearing a bright red lipstick in the summer. The YSL rouge volupt is one of my favorite's for that. I have it in shade 17, it's a very intense red when applied directly but you can also play with it and make it softer by applying a tiny bit in the center of your lips and then spreading it out with your finger so it gives a soft pink stain.

I must say that the texture of this lipstick is lovely and creamy. It glides on really well when applied and it is very moisturizing. It also contains SPF which is always a plus.

It is not only a very good product but the packaging is also amazing. It's very chic and elegant and looks very luxurious. There is also a little mirror at the top of the lipstick, I never really use it but it is a cute thing to add.

Price wise, I got mine for 31,90€ at Sephora which is quite expensive for a lipstick. But I would definitely buy the other shades because the formulation and the packaging are just really good.

On that note, hope you are having an amazing summer.

Tumblr inspiration No.1

Sunday, July 14, 2013

Bonjour !

So I was going to review a product but I just found out that it was discontinued so I'm going to do a little tumblr inspiration tonight. These are a few of the pictures I posted on my tumblr that inspired me. Seeing the picture of those lovely nails really makes me want to stop biting mine, especially since I aspire to become a makeup artist. I would much rather prefer to have makeup put on me by a lady with nice polished nails than not. I was thinking of trying gel nail varnish, I think that would help a lot with my nail biting problem :).
I would like to thank you for all your lovely comments on my post when I rambled about not getting my loan. Well, a little update on that, I actually found a solution. Think positive and positive things will come to you ! So anyway, in September I will be moving away to Ireland. Which is quite scary but very exciting. I mean moving away from home for the first time and getting so many responsibilities thrown at you in a matter of days can be quite scary but I'm really looking forward to it because I'll finally become independent, I'll be in charge of my money and basically my life which is a very empowering feeling. A new chapter of my life will start soon. I really need to set up new goals for this
upcoming year. I cannot stress enough the importance of goal setting. It really helps you move forward and grow, because you have a sense of purpose.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation

Sunday, June 30, 2013

Bonjour !

I treated myself to the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation last December simply because it's my favorite makeup product to splurge on when I have money !!

So, first of all I have very dry and sensitive skin, eczema prone actually so finding a good foundation that won't make my skin flakey or cakey is very hard. That's why I tend to buy light to medium coverage foundations that give a luminous glow. Luckily I don't suffer with spots or acne so I don't use foundation to cover anything but just to give a nice flawless look to my face.

Anyways, on the website the Skin foundation claims to be " A truly modern foundation that offers invisible, weightless coverage that looks like skin, not makeup. This long-wearing formula evens tone, minimizes the appearance of pores, conceals imperfections, and offers broad spectrum UV protection. Its hydrating technology leaves skin feeling cushioned, comfortable, and clean. Ideal for all skin types. " I have to say that I totally agree with the description, it does feel light on the skin, it is long wearing and very hydrating.

Packeging wise, I must say is very good, it's a small bottle easy to travel with, the foundation comes with a pump which is always a plus. The way I apply this product varies, somedays I use my fingers, other days I use the Mac 187 or the Mac 116, I even use the Sigma SS190 sometimes.

Overall, I have to say it's the best foundation I have ever tried for my skin, it really is amazing for very dry and sensitive skin. It's not the cheapest ( 41 euros ), but if you have the money I strongly recommend you try it !
