Lush ..

Friday, November 22, 2013

Since I moved to Dublin, my dry skin and eczema have come back at full force; so a few weeks ago I decided to take a trip to Lush to pick up products with natural ingredients in the hope that it would clear my skin. Previously, every time I had gone to Lush I felt a bit overwhelmed and lost because there were so much products and I didn't know what half of them were  used for, but this time I knew what I wanted so it was a lot easier and clearer to shop. The shop assistant did a little trial on my hand using these 3 products which are excellent for dry skin.

♥ Dreamwash : The first product is Dreamwash and it's basically a body wash but it makes your skin feel amazing. It's also great for sunburns because it has calamine in it which soothes the skin :)

♥ BodyButter : Now this is my favorite product of all three. It's basically a skin conditionner; after you use Dreamwash you apply the bodybutter on wet skin while your still in the shower and then rinse off. Now it does leave a oily texture on the skin but I don't mind it at all because my skin is so dry. I love the way when you come out of the shower you don't feel "squeaky clean" but nice and moisturised. I am definitely repurchasing this again.

♥ Dreamcream : This product is the best seller at lush and it's a body moisturizer. It is very good but for me it's too light. I like thick creams and this is more of a fluid. I think it would be amazing on normal skin. I do like the product but as I said it's not thick enough so I won't be buying this again.

Hot chocolate ..

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

♥ I'm soo excited because the christmas lights are finally lit in Dublin, spotify have their christmas playlist set up and it's starting to get a lot colder here. All of this calls for hot chocolate's in nice cafe's or at home and feeling all snuggly and cosy :). This is my favorite time of year by far and I can't wait for christmas ! It's in these times that I feel so grateful for having a family to spend christmas with, this year I'll be going to Cardiff and I can't wait. What are your plans for christmas this year ?

My new handbag ..

Saturday, November 16, 2013

It had been ages since I bought myself a handbag and after my previous one "broke" I decided to treat myself to this Pull&bear handbag. It cost me 29€ and I love it. Perfect size, great quality and just overall a purchase I'm very happy with :).

Long time no post ..

Wednesday, November 13, 2013

I'm sooo sorry I haven't been posting regularly here the last few months but so much has happened and I didn't feel settled and ready to get on a schedule. As most of you may know I moved to Dublin alone to do a makeup course and to be honest it's the best decision I have ever made in my life, moving away. I feel I've grown so much in these past 3 months, I have met amazing people, I've had great and bad moments but overall the experience has been amazing ! I finished my makeup course about 2 weeks ago so I have had time to settle down and to think where I want to go next and what I'd like to do with my career. I've decided that blogging is what I want to do basically, I don't know where it will take me but I want to start posting a lot more regularly and be more active on social media. So yeah, that's my plan, I hope you all are well and I will write here very soon ...

MAC Cleanse off oil

Monday, October 14, 2013

Bonjour !

Since I moved to Dublin I have been looking for a good makeup remover that would be as good as my Bioderma which is setting a pretty high standard ! After doing a lot of research, I stumbled across Elle's video which you can find here about her bedtime routine. I know we both have the same type of skin which is dry/sensitive so that's why I often reach for the products she uses and the MAC Cleanse off oil was no exception. I treated myself to this product last week and I absolutely love it.

It contains a lot of natural oils that dissolves the heaviest of makeup, and trust me I wear about 5 layers of mascara so I would know. It also cuts your makeup removing time in half because you gently work it into your eyes and skin for a few seconds, rinse with water and you're done !

It cost me 28€, and I think the packaging is simple but nice. I like the fact that there's a pump so you can control how much product you want.

Overall, this is the best makeup remover I have used along with Bioderma. I also had a few spots on my cheeks and they all disappeared since using this so that's another plus. I would definitely recommended this product to any skin type & I will repurchase this again.

Bonjour !

So it's been a few weeks since I wrote a post but I was really busy moving to Dublin !! So much has passed in the last month, it has been really amazing. I feel I was thrown in the deep end with so many things to handle at once, things that I had never dealt with before like budgeting, taking care of yourself, not being dependent on your parents .. I feel I've grown so much in these last weeks but I know I still have a lot to learn :). Anyway, on to the outfit, I bought this cardigan and these leather pants from a local store here in Dublin but I got this hat I'm obsessed with in H&M. Oh ! I also have instagram now, so follow me @shannentinney :).
